About

I'm Josh — an Android engineer who cares a little too much about how software feels.

I build mobile products for a living, mostly on Android. These days I'm a software engineer at Cash App, working on Cash App Families. Lately that's meant Sprout — Cash App's managed accounts for kids 6 to 12 — where I lead Android and partner across server, iOS, and web to ship the account and safety systems end to end.

Before Cash App, I spent years in fintech shipping consumer wallets, instant-pay, and banking experiences for hourly and gig workers across the Branch platform — apps like ShiftKey Wallet, Paymint, the Uber Pro Card, and Nursa Direct.

What keeps me interested isn't the category — it's the craft. I like the part of the job where a flow goes from working to feeling right: the timing of a transition, the honesty of a loading state, the quiet confidence of an interface that never makes you guess. Good software feels handmade, and I chase that feeling.

I also care about the experience on the other side of the screen — the developer one. I invest in tooling, architecture, and the small ergonomics that keep a team shipping fast and enjoying the work. Happy engineers build better products.

Outside of the day job I'm usually building something small — personal tools, on-chain experiments, pay-per-call APIs, the occasional internet oddity. And when I'm not writing code, I'm probably making music.
